Good Housekeeping published a gift guide featuring 16 advent calendars for college students, presenting them as alternatives to traditional care packages during the end-of-term countdown. The picks include candy, bath and beauty products, puzzles, collectibles and crafts; prices, availability and delivery timing may vary.
Good Housekeeping has published a guide to 16 advent calendars for college students, pitching them as a holiday alternative to a conventional care package. The selection ranges from daily candy and beauty products to mini puzzles, crafts and collectibles, with the guide suggesting they can be mailed to a student’s campus address for the stretch after Thanksgiving.
The guide’s featured choices include a Sour Patch Kids calendar with two pieces of candy per day, a Burt’s Bees set with 12 lip balms, and The Body Shop’s Classic Advent Calendar, which the report describes as containing 24 trial-size personal-care products. Other food picks include a calendar with 96 international candies, a Williams-Sonoma chocolate selection and a 24-day Italian cookie calendar.
Not every option is edible. Good Housekeeping highlights a calendar of 12 mini puzzles, each with 80 pieces, as a possible study-break activity. The list also includes a Marvel calendar with small builds and characters, a 24-day Stitch collectible calendar, a set of materials for 12 crafts, and a gemstone countdown. Jewelry options include a 12-day Kendra Scott calendar and a Liberty of London and Meri Meri charm-bracelet calendar.
Several selections are framed around specific preferences: Popcorn Shed offers 12 popcorn flavors across 24 days, while a hot-sauce calendar provides 12 varieties ranging from mild to very spicy. A joke calendar features daily jokes, and the guide also suggests the calendars as a way to mark the run-up to a student’s holiday break. The supplied report does not provide a complete price list or shipping details for all 16 products.
A Daily Gift for the End of Term
The guide addresses a familiar gift-giving problem: how to send something festive to a student who may be busy with classes and exams and away from home. A calendar divides a gift into small daily surprises, while its range of food, self-care and hobby options gives families alternatives to sending one larger package.
That framing is the publication’s recommendation, not evidence that the calendars improve academic performance or reduce stress. Their practical value will depend on a student’s preferences, campus mail arrangements and whether the gift arrives in time to use during the intended countdown.

From Care Package to Countdown
Good Housekeeping presents the calendars as gifts that could be sent to a college address and opened after Thanksgiving, during the period leading up to winter break. The source describes them as options for the holiday season and end-of-term stretch, rather than reporting a new product launch or a change in college gift policies.
The list spans 12-day and 24-day formats and combines consumables with keepsakes and activities. Its examples include familiar snack and personal-care brands alongside puzzles, building toys, jokes and craft supplies. The guide’s product descriptions and characterizations are editorial recommendations; the supplied material does not include independent testing results or customer data.
““A much more fun idea is to treat them to an advent calendar.””

Prices and Delivery Still Vary
The supplied material does not establish current prices, stock levels or delivery dates for each calendar. It mentions sale labels for some products but gives no dates or full pricing information, so discounts may have changed. The guide also does not confirm whether every item can ship to every campus or arrive before a particular exam period or holiday.
Product contents and availability can change, and the report does not provide details such as dietary suitability, allergen information or campus mailroom deadlines across the full list. Readers would need to check each retailer’s current listing and delivery terms before ordering.

Check Listings Before Ordering
The next step for gift-givers is to compare the guide’s suggestions with the student’s interests and confirm current product details with retailers. They should check shipping dates, campus delivery rules and contents, particularly for calendars meant to start after Thanksgiving or cover a specific number of days. The source reports no later product update or follow-up announcement.
